KMO and Jackson UMC assistance in Morijo in 2008 |
The water project
holds water to feed the people and the livestock during the
draughts that come to the area frequently. |

The typical water
hole in Morijo with a log cattle feeding trough that had to be
filled by men with buckets constantly. Only a few cattle could
drink at a time. |
KMO had this cattle
feeding trough of concrete made to feed dozens of cattle at
once. |

Also seen in this
photo is a pipe with a spicket that runs far away from the
cattle trough for the villagers to get their water in large
plastic jugs.

At another water hole near Morijo,
the cattle mill about waiting to be led to the fenced off
water hole by their Masai herdsmen. |

The herdsman has to carry plastic
jugs of water from the water hole to the water tubs where the
cattle drink. This is a daily chore for the people, often
having to walk most of the day to get to the water. |
Here, the cattle and donkeys are
loaded with saddle bags filled with water to take back for
human consumption to their villages. This water hole is a
potential site for another of our KMO water projects in the
future. |

The fence around
the water hole keeps the cows out and keeps the water somewhat
clean. Otherwise the animals foul the water in short time. |
Many trips are
needed to water the cows. |

Water jugs are passed over the fence
to other herdsmen. |
A tub of water and a thirsty bull.
Each animal drinks for ten minutes and then is led away so
that another one can drink. |

Luke joined in the watering of the
little cows. |
Thirsty cows crowd around the water
as soon as it it poured. |

|
|
 |
 |
|
Even a wheel barrow is used to hold
water for the cows. |

The 10/40 Window is an area stretching from 10° to 40° north of the equator from West Africa to East Asia. Did you
know that 90 percent of all unreached people groups live in this region of the world? The 10/40
Window is identified as having less than 2 percent of their populations as evangelical Christians.
